Welcome to Chapel Hill!
We're glad you'll be joining us in Chapel Hill, NC, home to the University of North Carolina, for the CHAT festival. Chapel Hill and the surrounding area offer a number of amenities and opportunities we'll hope you'll take advantage of while you're in town.
Our first suggestion for tips on how to get here and what to do while you're here (apart from the festival, of course), visit http://www.visitchapelhill.org.
How to Get Here
If you're planning to fly to the area, book your tickets to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). A taxi fare from the airport to Chapel Hill typically averages $40, or there are a number of shuttles that offer lower fares. For full information on transportation concerns, including general parking information, visit http://www.visitchapelhill.org/resources/transportation-options/.
Limited festival parking will be available on campus for our participants who plan to drive here. We will post that information in January.

What to Bring
Bring a photo ID and your confirmation number, and we'll check you in at the Campus Y, which houses the festival information headquarters. Check in will begin at the Campus Y at 8:00am on Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
Also, keep in mind that the festival is housed at venues across the UNC campus. While bus transportation will be available, it's a good idea to wear comfortable shoes as you traverse our beautiful campus with its brick sidewalks. (Ladies, save your high heels for the evenings.) And, it's February, so you'll want an umbrella and some cold-weather gear to stay warm: hats, gloves, scarves, etc.
